*Dainty, well-bred cough-cough* *teensy, REE-fined sniff*
Dr. Well Bee & his friends have said I should get up and take a slight bit of exercise to help me get rid of this dreadful cold, doncha know...so I reckon I'll have myself a cup of sassyfras tea and maybe try to take a little stroll in the warm air. *sigh* This honey poultice they insisted I use is a bit sticky, though...perhaps I'd better wear something loose & comfy...mayhap this wench blouse that the Red-haired Lass left over here after our last little get-together (that's a whole 'nuther story!) would work...it's mighty low-cut, bein' made for a wench, an' all...but it's loose enough not to stick to the honey that's smeared all over my ample...ummm...bosom (*blush*). Hmmmm...hangs clear down to my knees over the outside of my striped skirt, but no one will see me. I'll walk down towards the river, along the edge of the woods & back. Maybe I can even check out the huckleberries & see if they're ripe enough to pick yet...been cravin' a dish of my famous DownHome HuckleBuckle, and now that I'm feelin' at least SOME better, I could try to cook a bit. (I am getting kinda tired of nothing but leftover chicken soup & stale bread.)
Drat! My hair keeps fallin' down & gettin' stuck in this honey poultice...maybe I'll tie it up with this handy apron here...I'll just wrap it around my head like a checkered turban, and tie the apron strings under my chin. That way I won't mess up one of my good bonnets with the honey, but my hair will be up outta the way.
Boy...I look kinda funny, I reckon...with my big, red nose & my puffy eyes, and the honey smeared clear up over my face an all...an' now this checked thingie on my head with these loooooong strings under my chin, and this big white wench blouse baggin' about everywhere...hehe...even in my weakened state, it's enough to make me laugh. Good thing I won't be around where my darlin' Benton could catch a glimpse of me...or anyone ELSE in Mohicanland, for that matter.
OK...ready or not, world...here I come. *la, la, li-la, lah, laaaaah*
It's off to the river I go...my that sun sure is warm...hope the honey poultice doesn't melt and drip all over the place....
la, la, laaaaaahhhh........
