: : : : : After a heated online bidding war (and there are still 4 days to go before the bidding closes, mind you), I reached my max...the bid for the print went to $400.00. At that point The MacLeod threatened to "do a Magua" on my American Express and I felt it in my best interest to throw in the towel. Sigh. Another day, another print, perhaps. Keep an eye out for me....

: : : : Dear Lady Ann,
: : : : My condolences dear lady, but you hung in there for quite awhile! I was quite surprised this morning to see the amount of the last bid on the picture. This is my first experience with e-Bay (never signed on to it before last night). We can only hope that another opportunity will present itself..perhaps this time with a picture of Mr. Hawkeye?

: : : Yes, Lady Ann...it was a valiant effort! Thanks to you and Vita both for trying to obtain this wonderful print for Mohicanland. And to think, yesterday I was feeling sorry for poor Magua because he had no bids. I'd like to find some info on the current market value of this print...it may be quite high. It was a run of 1,000, I believe, which is not very large as those things go. Maybe another will appear for bidding, as Bama prints seem to be quite popular on eBay. Never fear, MMMM The eBay Fanatic, will alert all & sundry if and when such happens.

: : Talked with a friend of mine and he told me about this wonderful software program called "Sniper" (there are other programs). Basically allows you to bid with about ten seconds before auction ends your maximum on an item when you are away from a computer screen. Hopefully a clean hit & run. This avoids you placing you "max" bid ahead of time only to have somebody else raise it to the next level. Keep in mind this won't guarantee you of "winning" the lot but will hopefully help excercise some constraint. Good luck all!

: Some more info to help fellow Mohicanites from paying a hefty Premium for eBay items. The software is called Sniping & the website link that my friend referred me to is:
: Heck for $400+ for only a autographed lithograph you can probably also convince the real Magua (Wes Studi) to do personal lap dances to your hearts content.
Ok, I can't resist (I'm weak what can I say). Magua and personal lap dances..now THERE'S an interesting proposition! hehehe ((grins))
