A suggestion from Bill R (gnome hopping around aside him) for the striking Vita and the King/Queen. Post the link or addy again. I will go read this scratching that you think has gone unread. And I bet others will too now that the weekend is over, folks are caught up on the board, and the threads for loincloths and lap dances have run their course.

Bill R

: Oh, my sweet & loyal, TC ...

: I fully understand how you feel. There are times, when the Queen & I have felt exactly the same way. Some of the stuff we thought was the very best material we had put up on the site met with little, or no, response ... Frustrating. One can't sustain their energy over the long haul without positive feedback. You just wear out. Feedback renews the spirit.

: BUT ... we learned, rather relunctantly, that you can lead the horse to the water, but you can't make it drink. (My own thought for the day!) And, too, folks cruising the Internet would stumble upon one of our prides & send off a glowing E-Mail ... instant rejuvenation!

: It's like Doc said yesterday, folks will discuss, read, babble about and support what they WANT to. So, sometimes, even though inside we feel like screaming, "WHY DON'T YOU READ THAT?!!!??," we've adapted & just let the chips fall as they may and go on. Invariably, everything gets noticed sooner or later ...

: So ... the TC may announce, the Publicant might use leverage by threats of higher taxes, & the Rose Publisher may plead ... Even VITA might have a word or two, but ... NO STRIKES! :) READ THE CONTRACT! We have dispatched a fresh copy via our Huron Horde (yes, IN person!) for your perusal! The contract, not the Hurons!

: : : : MY DEAR, HIGHLY ESTEEMED DOCTOR M.
: : : : I AM ON STRIKE. THIS IS A QUITE SERIOUS ISSUE. SOON I SHALL MAKE THIS OFFICIAL, BY RINGING MY BELL ONE LAST TIME, RICGT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF LOTMLAND SQUARE.
: : : : HOWEVER, YOUR SARTORIALLY SPLENDOUROUS HUMOR RE. "The Marquis de Montcalm Mon Dieu Woo Hoo! Collection" ENHANCED BY "Doctor Mary's Fall Catalog for orgasmic products from a French military perspective." MADE ME BREAK MY SILENCE BEFORE THE STORM, FOR THIS ONE INSTANT.
: : : : iNDEED, iNDEED, AM GLAD THAT MY CAFE PRESS ORDERS DID NOT YET ARRIVE FOR MY REACTION TO YOUR POST WOULD SURELY HAVE BLOWN IT ALL TO SMITHEREENS!
: : : : yES, ALL WHO ARE SMART WILL ORDER DOUBLE THE AMOUNT OF THR AFOREMENTIONED MERCHANDISE, AND THE MERCHANDISE AFOREMENTIONED IS NOT A MAGUA LAP DANCE, BUT LOTMLAND MOUSEPAD, COFFEE MUG AND T-SHIRT.
: : : : sEE YOU IN THE TOWNSQUARE.

: : : : EX YE OLDE TOWNE CRIER

: : : Uh-uh ... no ... sorry ... no strikes allowed! Really! Check the contract!
: : :
: : Dear High and Esteemed King

: : My gripe is not with you. You have endeavored to be fair with me and let me cry to my heart's content.
: : However, my last cry in LOTMLand, encouraged by my heart and ordered by the Publicant aka Tax Collector, has fallen upon deaf ears.
: : Indeed, no one has shown up at Bumppo's to discuss/debate/dissect/praise a certain work of literature, penned by a longtime LOTMLand resident. This resident, who is an extremely talented scribe and who has terrific insight into the era LOTMLLand is all about, has preferred to remain anonymous, and now, I can see why.
: : True, there was a long weekend, but the Publicant informs me that this is not a good enough excuse, for the long weekend has come and gone,we are all back, head-count is almost perfect with the exception of Bill R. and Seamus, the weekend posts/crys are prominent on the TowneSquare, and still no one at Bumppo's!
: : I hear that the Publisher of the establishment called The Rose, will ring her own bell this Saturday morn, inviting all and sundry to Bumppo's starting Sunday afternoon.
: : But this is the Publisher, and it beats me why this person would like to ring a bell, considering mine has fallen upon deaf ears before!
: : My dear King, I have sworn and wowed and decided to repair myself to a quiet corner under No Man's Tree to meditate upon Magua's charms versus Eden's Winter. To be fair to the issue on hand, I shall have Magua's poster as well as the tome-in-the-works, in the center of my vision whilst I ping-pong the mysteries of sex and the printed word.

: : Yours truly and ever so humbly,
: : Currently Ex ye Olde TowneCrier
