: Weeeeeeeelll .... forgive me for eavesdropping but -
: Haven't slept much in recent days as I've been horribly busy so I kinda crashed midday. I crawled out into the fading light of day, grabbed a HUGE mug of caffeine (Forget the coffee, it's the caffeine we want!) & with one eye barely open, I was jolted into the day of the living by the board! Whoa!!!!

: Seems to me there's a bit of a misunderstanding floating about. Within these posts are many, many lessons. What they are, who knows, but they're there! At any rate, my impression is that Vita was seeking topic discussion & community type support for a fellow poster but felt let down. Others thought she was seeking literary critiques & felt a sting. Yet others felt ... PULEEEZE!!! So it goes. I believe, no matter what occurred, the worst happened. People felt hurt, insulted, berated, chided, ignored, unappreciated, in the clique, out of the clique, intimidated, dismissed, etcetera. And (yes, Diana, sometimes we just must start a sentence with 'and') life goes on.

: Part of the problem is familiarity; too much familiarity. The more it exists, the more misunderstandings, comparisons, expectations, and so forth arise. While Vita had hoped to spur on some friendly encouragement & perhaps some interest & discussion on the subject matter, many believed she was inviting I like/I don't like comments. Major misunderstanding ... then again, once brought up, it (EW) was open for ANY commentary.

: Sometimes expectations can be unrealistic, sometimes they are quite reasonable; certainly considering the "one of our own" element, Vita expected positive reactions & was met initially with deafening silence. Sure, there's a lot of reasons for that & no one is ever obliged to reply or discuss any particular post but, at the same time, NO moral support can certainly make one scratch their head.

: Vita is very, very enthusiastic. She's proud of many things, not least of which is this publishing venture & exuberantly rings her bell to announce any event. She's EQUALLY enthusiastic about MohicanLand & all its events; often the first one on the scene to announce an update we've made on our MP site or to wish someone good thoughts, a happy birthday, or good luck. Maybe her glad tidings haven't been reciprocated???

: The Board; yes, the question is probably how many times has it outlived its usefulness. This question arises, not from the current threads, but has been one we've been tossing about for awhile. It's different for us, of course. We have responsibilities we sometimes (often) don't want. We can't enjoy it as a forum the way others can but that, too, is the nature of the beast. Oh well ...
: A rest may be in order - maybe not. We do know, mostly from e-mails, that it serves a function that is positive for most who use it. We appreciate that & aren't callously looking to pull the plug. A bit of reflection on interraction on such a forum might be in order. We can not control the board, only manage it.

: One last pertinent thought (and you can toss out the above ramblings) - I need more coffee.

Good Evening, My Queen!
Right now I am going to the kitchen to brew some... believe it or not, I had none today. NONE. Can you believe that????????
Barely able to type, the TC
