: : Linda srites:: I agree with almost all said about Ralph Fiennes's films, including a ridiculous Wuthering Heights, but I thought him very good in Schindler's List and perfecto in Quiz Show. I believe he's very talented, but has not always lucked out with vehicles.

: : The LIST GROWS!!! I know I am not the only English Patient fan on this board, nor the only Ralph Fiennes fan! Even if I were, I'd fight to the DEATH for my 2nd favorite actor. Yes, he was wonderful in Schindler's List, and Quiz Show...but to ignore TEP is criminal, here!! I'm having heart failure!!! And I thought The End of the Affair was lovely, as did most critics, though I saw way more of Ralph than even *I* wanted to. I even like the utterly hokey Wuthering Heights, just because it has two of my favorite stars in it, though I've seen better versions. (Having said that, I must say that WH is almost ALWAYS hokey in film, IMHO.) The only movie of Ralph's that I absolutely, completely HATE & will not watch, even to see his sweet smile, is The Avengers, which is the stupidest, crappiest piece of junk I've ever seen put to film. Everyone connected with it should be ashamed, including, and especially Sean Connery! I didn't particularly care for Oscar & Lucinda, either, but thought Ralph's role was quite well done. His latest, Sunshine, has received a good bit of critical acclaim, but not much exposure.

: : I'm quite prepared to forgive all you folks for your completely wacko, insane, and utterly WRONG, WRONG, WRONG opinions (after all, I was able to forgive Rich for being the same about that DVD version of you-know-what), but you'd all better run far, run fast when next we meet. I'll have serious lessons in film appreciation to be teaching, doncha know!!!

: Hello MMMMarcia,

: OK! Did see Schindler's list, Quiz show & Avengers (respectively, 2 reluctant positives & 1 negative - nets to a plus one) RF moves up one whole rung from my personal bottomless pit/ladder ratings. Sean Connery is one of my favorite actors and if he could not help the poorly written script (along with another blockbuster flop The Medicine Man) from Avengers then nobody could!

: RF posters will make excellent bulls eye tagets. Afraid if I do see the RF light then I will be permanently blinded...

: Vince

Interesting to see that the jury truly is still out on RF and TEP. I haven't seen TEP yet, and have only seen RF in Schindler's List. he gave me the creeps, but then isn't what he was supposed to do? I'll have to watch some serious movies to catch up on this discussion...but one question I need to ask resident film buffs...does John Malkovich give anybody else the creeps?I saw "Dangerous Liaisons" for the first time recently and there's something about him that makes my skin crawl...
