Yes. Joe Torre is an amazing manager ... and, love 'em or hate 'em, this group of Yankee ballplayers is a very special group. They will go down as one of the best teams of all time. Their stats hardly tell the story, for, in fact, for the most part, their stats are merely average. They simply know what it takes to win ... and win they do!
Think of what they've done ... 14 consecutive World Series wins, with the same core group of players, not over some 20 year span or anything. That's basically 3 and a half, so far, World Series SWEEPS ... consecutively!!! The record they broke, by the Yankees of Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig days, stood for what? 70 years or so?? And now it's surpassed by 2. I think that this is a record that will stand for all time.
A VERY special group these Yankees.
