Just wanted to let everyone know that yer Wench is now an initiate of Chimney Rock, thanks to Miss MMMMarcia and Diana S., who very graciously escorted me over the Cliff Trail on Sunday after I jumped off an early morning flight from Pittsburgh and bolted up to the beautiful mountains. You will never know how much this wonderful afternoon meant to this red-haired girl. After a difficult year (and weekend -- we had a belated memorial service for my mom on Saturday) I got to spend several hours among the most gorgeous scenery I’ve seen in years. AND these two wonderful ladies even got yer Wench to pose for pictures on BOTH Alice’s rock and the rock where Uncas and Magua fought -- both without said Wench either hurling or passing out. (You can ask them both about the look of terror on my face. Pictures are proof.) AND I got to rub my hands over a rock that Hawkie-Poo touched. What more can you ask for? But anyway, I’ve now been there, I’ve SEEN what it is, and what a lovely, gorgeous place and what a spiritual uplift. Can’t wait to get back for the Gathering. And this day was just one more bit o’proof of what wonderful friendships Mohicanland is helping to develop...
