Don't know about 2 fires in the Gorge ... there are several, actually, in the area. Here's what I do know ...

There is a fire in the Gorge, now at over 2000 acres. It is near Table Rock, and on that side of the river. The plan, right now, is to allow it to reach level ground before containing it ... A Rural Carrier I work with, who carries the mail up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, says you cannot see the Gorge ... it's just smoke ... we can smell it here at our house, 25 - 30 miles away.

Very bad! It's burning in an area where there are endangered species, not to mention a GORGEOUS view ...

Gnome, drink some more beer! It's BAD!
