After attending the funeral of the lad MacKay this afternoon, my thoughts are of far away places and the ones i have not seen for so long. I have had my fill of this campaign, the French and thier allied savages, and most of the British around me. I must speak to brother Flags in the morning about pulling out of this place, and heading over Laurel Ridge and back to the eastern lands of this colony.

My thoughts are full of TwoBottle and the wee ones we share. Flags and i have been living on borrowed time these last few months, and our luck will not hold forever. I fear we will not escape with our hair the next time we come against such foe.

We must make sure that cousin Seamus is able to travel with us, and maybe Davey and Malcolm too, but i know that we must distance ourselves from this frontier. The French and thier allies are still in these woods, and we are not safe here.

i must speak to Flags in the morning............
