That's very interesting. Looks like you guys are a bit ahead of us..:) I think the two minutes of silence came into effect here in Canada in 1999.Then again, I could be wrong. I also find it very encouraging that our schools are creating excellent awareness by observing Remembrance Day through a special assembly. I witnessed a very touching one yesterday. Members of the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION were present ( including a bugler)and a classmate of my son's did a wonderful presentation by remembering his great-uncle who lost his life in France in 1944.
