Just caught a few minutes of the History Channel and they were doing a piece on the history of Thanksgiving....seems that during the annual Thanksgiving Day parade in Plymouth, the New England tribes protest, with banners, chants, etc. They interviewed several of the elders concerning this and one of them used your very words, "the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving was the beginning of the end for native Americans." So, there you have it!!
