Undoubtedly, this movie is my all time favorite. I absolutely fell in love with Daniel Day Lewis as Nattie Bumpo. With only two minor historical foh pahs I found made, this movie has no comparison. MY ex-boyfriend took me on an excursion as few years ago and showed me all the historical sites pertaining to the movie, including the spot on the highway where a bloody battle took place,(and where the folks around say it is still haunted by the ghosts) and where the maiden threw herself off the mountain for the love of the young Indian warrior. I saw the expanded version a couple of months on the satellite dish network and can't wait for the director's version to come out in January. I'll be buying it, no doubt.

If there is anything that tops this movie, it's the Canadian version of the Pathfinder, the (I believe 13) episodic adventures of La Longe Carrabine! And to that I add if anyone knows where I can get my hands on that series, please let me know asap! I want that, too!
