: : Okay, Gayle, I'll get specific. I was trying to be subtle, not tacky. I don't think this is the proper forum for wanna be writers to publish their fiction. Yes, the fiction may fit the period, but the amount of space that certain posters take up with their continuing sagas does not interest me. Far better if those posters were to set up their own website and see what it takes to maintain their own website than rely on someone else to do the work for them. I've done my own website before and it is a pain in the you know what. A discreet post saying something like 'if you like this, visit www.... for more' would be more acceptable to my way of thinking than post after post after post with another letter from Corporal so and so... Specific enough?
: My opinion only, of course....

Dear Danalee,

I think we all have our favorite stuff we follow and participate in on the Board, and other threads we just pass up because they don't catch our interest. Actually, we have so many people participating with so many different interests, that it is best to let various threads develop simultaneously, so that everybody has something to look for when they check in each day. Some of the threads appeal more to men than to women, and vice versa; some deal with movie questions, and some give those of us who just feel in the mood for some zany fun somebody to knock around with. It's the endless variety of possibilities every day that keeps people coming back to the Board, and catches new people up in the world of Mohicanland. If we had only one subject, it would wear itself out pretty quickly.

I'm glad you felt comfortable enough with us to say what was on your mind. There are many who have felt the way you do from time to time, including those of us who have jumped in and out of different threads almost since the beginning. Sometimes I go for days without finding a thread that interests me, and then something will develop that brings me in again. So, like all of us, just pick and choose what interests you, and keep an eye on new stuff that comes along, or start a thread on a topic you would like to discuss yourself.

I'm glad you are staying with us, even though some of the threads don't suit your fancy, and glad you brought this up.

Gayle
