: : : Danalee,
: : : Your point is noted. I don't believe that Seamus, Davey and myself, the good Dr. Uncle, Flags, Tales, Uncle Quasi (oh, you know...all those fine people!!!) think of themselves as wanna be writers....we just enjoy making up some exploits, like a lot of the other characters in Mohicanland, and tying them in to actual 18th century history. This tie to actual history is VERY important to us, for as I stated before, we want to educate and entertain. I suppose we do go on and on and on....sometimes.
: : In defense of the MacWilliam Chronicles, I have to say that for the LONGEST time I didn't realize that they were fiction, assuming from the content and style that they were posts of actual correspondence from the era! (OK, you can stop laughing now...its just that this Board is sometimes just a little too real for us 18th century wannabes!) Because the Chronicles, as well as other threads on this Board have ignited the spark, I have gone on to reseach many aspects of 18th century history, music and literature....and added a roomful of 18th century costumes to my inventory as well. For that I thank all of you...especially Rich and Elaine...for adding so much richness to my life. And no matter what anyone says, I will still continue to believe that the MacWilliam gang is transmitting their letters from the 18th century to our present one.

: Well said, Ann. I too am a GREAT fan of the MacWilliams boys and look forward to each 'post' from these wonderful 'reconteurs'!! And I LIKE the Chronicles being right here on the Board. Even if I only have a couple of minutes to 'check in' on the Board, I can catch up with the latest happenings in the lives of Bent Twigg, Miss Marcia et al., I can ponder over the 'quote for the day', I can find a URL 'link' to ... and - I can see what Davey, Seamus and Co. are up to, - it works for me, I can tell ya'!!
: I'm sorry, boys, if I haven't taken the opportunity to ask more questions or raise more points, but believe me, you HAVE been 'educating'...!! Thank you for sharing so much with me - us.
I also have enjoyed the "Chronicles" immensely, often going back and reading them on days when I have a bit of "downtime" to savor things. And as for being "wannabe" writers, might I say that your wordsmithing skills are way beyond the "wannabe" level...i.e. those oh-so-romantic letters to "The Dark Haired Lass" and the death and remembrance scene of Wee John...that was real EMOTION, my lads. Kudos to all.
