: Hi Everyone ... Posters & Lurkers both!

: I want to thank you all for your posts & e-mail concerning my post "The Rise ... and Decline & Fall ... of Mohicanland." As usual, whenever I let my emotions get the best of me and make a "revealing" post, I am overwhelmed by the sentiments expressed. It is sometimes hard to imagine the affect this Board has had on individuals. I'm happy for that!

Hi Rich,
An interesting, thought-provoking post. I knew you weren't targeting me. I just saw myself in what you said. I'll try to be better about posting.
As for one of the other points you brought up: I would still enjoy reading some of the off-topic posts (birthday greetings, new babies, weddings, needing prayers, etc.). Would it be possible for you to delete those kinds of posts at the end of each week (or day or month)? That way we can enjoy them, but newbies coming to the main board wouldn't have to wade through personal stuff they know nothing about. You could make the decision what stays and what goes, and the rest of us would agree to abide by what you decide. I have no idea if this would be a simple task for you, or a very time-consuming one. Anyway, it's a thought to consider.
And on topic: remember eons ago when we were trying to find LOTM related places in our home states? I had despaired finding anything in Alaska, but this week I discovered Cape Mohican, located on the west coast of Nunivak Island (which is off the west coast of Alaska). I may be slow, but I never give up.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
