The web site you've linked to is an excellent source of info for colonial/early American Revolutionary/19th century history. Lots of good articles.

The author of that particular article on scalping is Major George Bray, friend & site historian. He wrote another article on the subject which we've excerpted in case you'd like to read that one as well.
