: : : : : Am sending this Runner with a bundle of goose feathers for your down quilts.  The geese are darkenin' the sky like rain clouds headin' south, and the shootin' yesterday got me almost outta lead.  Fortunately, while I was skinnin' a doe in the forest last night, I crossed paths with a young man by the name o' Morgan, who says he is bound for the Ohio Territory to start a tradin' post for his fri'nd, John Baynton.  When he seed how slick I was takin' and saltin' the skin, Morgan asked if I would like to hire on as a long hunter and make my fortun' with his tradin' company, but I have other obligations to fulfil at the time, and told him as nicely as possible that is not a possibility.  Nevertheless, he traded me some lead, salt, sugar and a fine blanket coat for the buckskin plus all the geese I had plucked and drawn and salted.  We shared a crisp-cooked goose and some corn fritters afore we parted ways, and I wish him well in his venture. 

: : : : : Hector is enjoyin' the trip.  I woke up this mornin' to find he had wrapped himself in yer quilt, and I was burrowed in a cover o' leaves tryin' to keep warm.  Wouldn't mind so much if the hound didn't snore so loud to boot.

: : : : Ah yes, my pressie from 'She'! Yes! Feathers - WOW!!! 'Loadsa feathers means loadsa bedding', in ANY language!! Yes! I forsee lots o' cosy bedding in Mohicanland THIS year!! A fine thing to look forward to THIS winter, what say you, sir - what did you say your name wa... Mighty!  That man can move!!! What do you suppose has made HIM shoot off like that!! Dang if I understand men... Ah well, 

: : : : Yoohoo, Miss Marcia!  Lookie here!! We don't have to huddle under no steenking, skimpy Trade blankets from that miserable ole polecate 'He Who Shall Not Be Named' up ta' the Trading Post!! It's goose feather stuffed cosy quilts and bedding for all, this year, thanks to 'She'!! Oh - and meat aplenty! (Plumb near forgot, in my excitement!) Indeed - good news, Miss!

Rummaging through bedding profesionally, rolling around on the dusty Bumppo tavern floor with legless gnomes, duvetin' and all.... You're getting mighty risque and frisky for the quietly, dainty, quilting lady I met at Gathering.  Of course, I never went to the ladies room with you and your group, so it's fair to say I haven't seen all sides of the picture....we all know what you girls talk about in that ladies room.  Make the ears burn it would.

: I do believe you have confused me, Miss Katie, proprietress of the gol' darn finest Quilt and Bedding Shop, this side of the Glimmerglass, with that parsimonious, generally less than genteel, Kate!  While *I* come from fine European breeding and class, that *Kate* person can boast only a lineage of Highland chiefs, known for their thievin' and reivin'!!! We are NOT to be conpared, OR confused, man!!

: And I would have you understand that my cosy quilts, duvets and sundry bedding truly is the work of a professional!! I would hope that you are not suggesting that my duvets represent anything tacky or tawdry or conjure up any images that are less than wholesome!!  No Sir!! My bedding is immaculate and I will not allow any slurs to be cast upon my covers!!

: And THANKS to 'She', and her boat load o' - beg pardon, *of* goose feathers, I anticipate a record stock of consumer goods in my wee establishment very soon!!  And though it still be only September, I have a steady stream of customers knocking at my shop, enquiring as to how they can lay their hands on my covers!!  It seems, thanks to that dirty 'Simon Girty' and his (purloined) purchase, (long story, sir!) word has gotten around re: my professional services!  Therefore, it behooves me to announce that anyone wishing to order one of Miss Katie's finest quilts or duvets, git along to her little establishment, tout de suite, so as to make sure they are not disappointed!!

: No sir - we will have no more loose talk about 'risky, frisky' service!!  There is NOTHING risky about my bedding and I would not have you casting aspersions upon the high standard of the professional services which I provide!!
