Corporal MacWilliam,

Uncle Angus has decided the ewes have had rest enough, and we are on the trail again. We are traveling east on the Frankstown Path, after stopping at The Two Licks (south of Shaver's Spring) this morning for a cool drink. We are headed for Everett's Notch to meet a gentleman who has a herd of Shropshire ewes. Angus would like to trade a few of our Whitefaced lambs to a Mr. Karl Everett for some of his breeding stock. We can not pass up such a good possibility since we are so close to this flock. Angus says Karl's fold is the best in Penn' Woods. Considering the excellent fighting qualities of our flock and the longer legs of the Shropshire breed, the offspring will be invincible in battle.

I hope you have had time to speak to Captain Croy of my request. I am anxiuos to see the Regiment again, and get back to my duties. We will stay at Everett's Notch but a few days, and turn south towards Loyalhanna in a fortnight. We will be at your location by the full moon.

Pax Aye,
wee John and Angus
