Justin...can't find my book right at the moment with facing colors, but I will. As for bearskins on Grenadiers. All grenadiers during 7 years War wore mitred caps, the Grenadier cap, made them look taller, and was also originally worn so the grenade pouch could be taken off and on over the head with ease (other soldiers wore the tricorn, of course grenades were rarely used at this time....mitred cap became the "mark" of a grenadier, same as slowmatch on the baldric...you may ask what a slowmatch and baldric are!!.) Only Highland Grenadiers (77th, 42nd) wore bearskin on mitred caps during this time, it is a Scots tradition...the bearskin...from the Berzerkian warriors of ancienct Celtic times...where we get the word Berserk!! I believe it was the 1768 warrant which ordered ALL grenadiers to have bearskin on grenadier caps. And yes, all drummers wear mitred caps, but only the Highland troops again would have had bearfur on theirs (until REv. War when all went to bear)....So, movie was wrong. 60th did not have bear on their grenadier caps.

Pax Aye!
