: Thanks, Lady Ann. I'm using osnaburg for the shirt, so French seams were a must as far as I'm concerned. I know Dana likes raveling, but it makes me crazy!

: Do you know of any tricks to get a glovers needle to slide more easily through leather? I have some beautiful, fine buckskin I was going to make some possibles bags out of. The stitch info will help tremendously, thanks again. NightSky

The trick to getting a glover's needle to slide more easily through leather is to use the finest quality needle you can afford...I have gone through dozens of needles made by many different companies and they are all different. The best ones I have found I got through Jas. Townsend and Son, Inc., although I have an S-curve needle I got from Tandy Leather that works very well (skip their other needles; only the S-curve is exceptionally good). And I agree with your decision to use French seams on the osnaburg...I do French seams whenever I am working with muslin, osnaburg or linen otherwise the raveling is just too much.
