Anything with cornmeal, dried corn, maple syrup...it's going to be difficult to be correct cause it won't be food that the 5th graders will be much interested in..course that's a good reason to do it, right?? Cornbread with maple syrup to pour overtop...cooked venison and squash?? Good luck!! Has she asked the teacher??
