: I must be crazy.

: Simply to get an upgraded server, that encompasses a better Real Server, to show video & hear audio, we had to sit up and re-upload, and re-configure, and ... and ... What a nightmare!

: Every section of this Web site that is interactive ... our web log, our access watch, our two wwwboards (yes, the Against All Odds section has its own), our e-mail, our form mail(s), our guest log, our secure server (still out ... the only thing non-functioning at the moment, I think), out wwwboard administrative area, our "control panel," ... did I miss anything? Probably! Then, of course, actually getting the new Real Server to stream Real Media. Not to mention re-uploading portions of the Site. Yowsah! My eyes are bleary & red from staring at this damn computer screen.

: On top of that, while e-mailing back & forth with our tech guy in Vancouver, BC and attempting to get the Site back on its feet, I am trying to write a book ... remember? "The Mohicanlander's Cpmpanion Guide." So, back & forth I go. Write a few passages ... check the e-mail ... re-configure ... browse the Site to check the results ... write ... check ... re-configure ... browse ... check again ... write ...

: HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!

: But wait, in the middle of this, I feel compelled to get the Mohicans Listening Room up on the Site by this morning (NOT!). So, squeeze in, between the write - e-mail - re-configure - browse - check routine, a few of these ... create .wav files, convert to Real Audio, upload (for hours), work on .html, create a hot-spot .jpg, put it all together ... back to write, check that e-mail, re-configure, browse & check ... Again! And, AGAIN! @!#$#% Arrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhh!

: Amazingly, I haven't yet pulled all my hair out. I still have a pony tail.

: Oh, what a night! ... and day! ... and night!

: BUT, other than our secure server, which we hope will be back functioning sometime today, all appears to be in order again on the Web Site. No, the Listening Room is not yet up ... I failed miserably on that objective, but it is well under way.

: What IS the Listening Room? It'll be a pop-up window, to allow you to continue browsing whatever it is you are browsing. Within, side by side, will be both versions of the LOTM soundtrack, available for your comparison as you listen. You will need Real Player version 7 or higher to listen. The current version is 8. You can download the player, for free, from our Home Page, the Real.com web site, or our video clips index ...

: And what about those video clips? For the first time, we've got them all working! The quality you see will depend on the speed of your computer and Internet connection. Here's what's presently available:

: The closing scene of the DVD
: The original theatrical trailer
: A behind-the-scenes featurette
: Locations ... the vistas
: Locations ... the falls
: Locations ... the cliffs
: Web Site & guide book TV promo
: John Evans discussing props at the 1999 Gathering
: Eric Schweig displaying a mask at the 1999 Gathering
: Bits of Biltmore from the 2000 Gathering

: Then, on audio only:

: Excerpt of our interview with Russell Means
: Excerpt of our interview with Mike Phillips

: We're looking for a definitive bit from our Maurice Roeves & Eric Schweig interviews. Unfortunately, the audio quality is so poor on our Wes Studi tape, that we'll have to forego the pleasure on that one ...

: So, nothing new this week, except a new server ... now ...

: Back to writing ... e-mail ... re-configuring ... browsing ... checking ... creating ... converting ... uploading ... writing ... We've got a book to publish ... Right, Vita? ... write ... e-mail ... check ... create ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

: (Dreaming of tomorrow, when I'll leave this screen and get some much-needed fresh air, as I perform some Gathering duties in the field.)

: I MUST be crazy!

========

Rich / Elaine,

I really like way you worked in the pun on the Trials and Tribulations for your companion title (front & back covers). Even if you guy(s) insist that you are going crazy - at the very least you still have your humor.

Regards,
Vince
