He never seems to have any trouble following Hawkeye's conversations with others in English, and since he was addressing "leave them" to the girls, that's what he would have used.

Like you, for most of it, I just SIT BACK AND ENJOY!! However, this scene has always irked me just a little, 'cause I always felt that Hawkeye was being just a tad unfair in snapping at Cora for not realising that their prints WEREN'T REALLY showing up, or giving their presence away! Apparently she should have known that ONLY burying the bodies would be giving the game away!! Poor Cora... ('course, he apologises nicely later but - THAT DON'T IMPRESS ME MUCH!!)

Sorry, Miss, I won't criticise the film again - I PROMISE!! (Not till after June, anyways!! :o)
