: : Hello everyone. After pouring over that past Gatherings for days and days, I am finally up to date. Boy am I exhausted! Reading all the accounts of '98, '99, and '00 Gatherings, putting names with faces, hearing responses from those of you who have been there, and listening to the wonderful background music (which, by the way, I love), I almost have my bags packed and ready to hit the road.

: : With that said, I can't help but be a little nervous about coming into an established "family". I feel as though I know some of you simply through email and conversation on this board. I know I will be entertained, informed, and welcomed. I hope that Soldier #2 will still give us the behind-the-scenes-goings-on and that the re-enactors will re-enact for us "virgin" Mohicanites. I'm sure you "veterans" won't mind.

: : I become more and more excited about coming with each passing day. Checking in here daily for any updates and news. See you all in June.

: : Theresa...Bama Babe with the Bama Bound Bama Print! Hey Ros!

: Theresa,

: With the lads from the 77th Highlanders, Gren. Coy (that's short for COMPANY)..Malcolm, Davey Gunn, JohnsTon, Andrew...Pvt. Chauncey Goodrich, of Rogers Rangers, Lt. Col. John Armstrong of the 2nd Pennsylvania Provincials, and all the rest of us MacWilliam boys, I am sure we can put together a drill, demonstrations galore, and a great camp tour. Just stop by and make yourself known, sit and visit awhile!

: We just might call our camp "Virgin Territory", since this is our first Gathering, too! What say ye??

: Pax aye!

: Seamus

Seamus, sounds like great fun and something Claude (the best husband in the world) would enjoy. I have a little background in militia drills myself. You see, I work at a middle school and for the past few years we have built a colonial village at our school with several re-enactments and guess who helped with the damn militia? You got it! This was a real unique experience with fifth graders transformed into little colonial men and women, soldiers, blacksmiths, candle makers, weavers, apothocary workers, carpenters, silversmiths, tavern regulars, quilters, basketweavers, stock and pillary, dancers, and we even had a town crier! What fun but a lot of work. If I can get my hands on the photo album and if you're interested, I'll bring it to share.

So, "Virgin Territory" encampment may have itself a visitor or two. Looking forward to meeting all of you there.
"Dawn, at the encampment. See to it that your're there."

Theresa
