Aye, to everything that cousin Seamus has said. The American flag waving may be a bit too much for some other folk (and having just gotten back from Germany, I know that we Americans wave our flags more than anyone!!), but we come by it honestly, having something to do with the inner pride of which we hold for our independent ancestors who took the plunge and came to this country more than 250 years ago.

While in Germany, I stood on the banks of the Rhein, looked at the old wall of Duisburg which is near the Salvator Kirche, and realized that Andreas Hagenbuch, my ancestor, saw this same sight in 1737 when he sailed down the Rhein to Rotterdam to catch the ship to Cowes to catch the ship to Philadelphia. All sorts of emotions welled up in me, for Andreas's great grandfather was Swiss, Andreas was German, but soon to become a British citizen (when he took the oath of allegiance to the British crown upon landing in Phila.) and in 1781 he was cited for patriotic service to the new United States of America (along with his four sons who all served the new country in the army). I'll wave my flag and I'll second all of what Seamus already said. I won't have to say it again!! Pax Aye!! (but remember that the full Gunn Clan oath is Aut Pax Aut BELLUM!!)
