May 1st, 1759
Fort Frederick Encampment

Most of the Fair goers have departed for home. As we sit here reflecting on the good times of the last few days, the faces from the crowd reappear: RootHog, Owl, Fuzz, Crazy Debbie and Larry, Peddler, Kim and Daryl, Tony and Val, Gray Bear, John Getz, Burrito Bob, Pantsless Frances, Peter (wannabe Uncle Angus!), and all those that have familiar faces.....but no names. But there is one face that we miss.....Steve the Blacksmith. He did not make it through the winter....and we miss him dearly.

We will stay here at the Fort for another few days resting from the march from Raestown. Then we'll be off in an unknown direction. Flags and myself will follow the 77th south in a couple weeks, but in the meantime we may have a little look around. We may escort TwoBottle back home, as she was here with us for the Fair. She purchased a new shirt for me from a sutler for the trip south. She said the old one was getting a little thin. We must be ready for the Carolinas, it will be a long trek. We are looking forward to meeting new people so we have more faces to remember from the crowd.
