Alrighty then ... 3 guesses ... What happens EXACTLY TWO weeks from today?

La dee da .... waiting ...

Give up?

Fine! I'll tell you ...

About 9AM we'll be a-Gatherin' for the 4th consecutive year (and the 4th consecutive day of THIS year) at Chimney Rock Park's pavilion in the meadow [above] ... THAT'S what'll be happening, at least for about 90 Mohicanites!

Another special time is in store, I'm pretty confident about that ... they have all been so ...

1998 - First Great Mohican Gathering ... It was special because it was the first. That will ALWAYS make that one special. It was a mere 2 days long, but it was so much fun in the making! We had a blast on the Board planning and creating scenarios of candy fights in the theater & wheel chair races on the Cliff Trail. The Gathering itself was not a let-down, a surprise unto itself! For me, it was special because a speck of a thought was realized. And what fun it was to not only MEET people for the first time, but to actually SEE what they looked like!

1999 - The Second Great Mohican Gathering ... This one was actually the least fun for me. Too much stress. But it WAS special! We expanded the event to 3 Days, visted the River Walk for the first time, had Eric Schweig for a guest, and bade farewell, forever, to The Bunkhouse!

2000 - The Third Great Mohican Gathering ... A FINE comeback! The affair at Biltmore made this one really memorable & special for me. The addition of a Trading Post/Raffles Cabin was a neat touch, and the music provided culminated it all nicely. It was a great cast of characters who comprised this particular Gathering, and a huge increase in attendance from the previous 2 Gatherings. All in all, I'd vote for this one as THE most special ... to date.

2001 - The Fourth Great Mohican Gathering ... Has all the makings of the best ... We've expanded again, to 4 days, will re-visit the River Walk, have a very, VERY special guest arriving (one who doesn't carry the stress-related baggage, thankfully), has what looks like a super group coming, a new and different event & location, and the ultimate in musicians. The re-enactment aspect has always been there, with John Harkins, John Evans, and Eric Hurley in annual attendance, but this year, it'll take on a much greater revelance with a much broader cast of characters! And, for the 4th time, we'll meet under the pavilion ...

Just a word of thanks to those who have assisted us, greatly, in putting this year's shindig together ... Thank you Marcia, Ann, Kate, Eric, Sharon, Diana S., Jo, Mary, Sarah Z., and Ros for your contributions, and in some cases they were (are) MANY, towards planning & organizing the very many details that go into making this work ... year after year. Once it begins, those mentioned above, plus a great many more, keep it running like a finely-oiled machine ... well, maybe not quite THAT good, but pretty darn near ...

See you all in less than two weeks!

Safe journey!
