: : : : : : Mr. Gatherin' Guru,

: : : : : : Well.....everyone one knows the trip from Penns Woods to The Carolina Colonies is all "down hill"......and with a wind at our backs, and an unlimited supply of Uncle Quasi's Amber Liquid we are going to make the trek in record time!! We may even stop in Statesville for some shredded pork Bar-B-Que at The Carolina Bar-B-Que Restaurant.....oops, they aren't open in the middle of the night......aw shucks!!!

: : : : : : ThreeTales (wishin' he had some of that Bar-B-Que right now)

: : : : : Not to fear Three Tales....Gadget Girl and Gear Gal will be bringing large amounts of the shredded pork Bar-B-Que, eastern NC style, made especially for this occasion by Duncan's sister "B", to the Cedar Creek Picnic (that is, if I can keep Bill and Cecelia out of it until we get to CR). Statesville, Schmatesville, what do they know about Bar-B-Que, however, some other delectable offerings WILL be coming from my very own Chef sister's gourmet restaurant in Statesvile. So you see, all is well...you'll get your Bar-B-Que AND some Statesville fare!!!

: : : : : Headin' west to Can-tuc-kee soon!!!

: : : : But is it the GOOD kinda NC pork barbque Diana? White sauce?
: : : : Or that pretender, red sauce?

: : : : Oh.........*singing*......Nothing could be finer,
: : : : than the pork in Caroliner, if it's shre------ded.

: : : : Bill R

: : : It's the REAL THING Bubba!!! But White sauce????? More like a vinegar and hot sauce, how about clear sauce maybe??? Definitely no red, tomatoey stuff!!! Goes good with Bar-B-Qued Potatoes and Brunswick Stew, and SLAW (not the sweet stuff) and fried corn bread sticks!!!! None o' that Mamby Pamby Beef BBQ YumYum stuff, nosiree!!!!! Uh Bill, ...am I gonna need a locked cooler for the trip?????

: : : Di

: :
: : Locked cooler? Locked cooler? Nah. You can trust me. I'll protect it for you, no worries. I'll ride with it, even if it is in the trunk! You can trust me Diana, really. You really really can. Please pass the buns!

: : White sauce (or clear sauce) true REAL North Carolina pulled pork barbque is the BEST! Maybe you SHOULD lock the cooler Diana........

: : Bill R

: So....what are you trying to say, Bill? That you'd be happy to join Cecelia and I for lunch after we pick you up on Wednesday? We'll be having freshly "pulled" off the pig *that very morning* pork Bar-B-Que. We'll bring the buns and slaw!!! Extra hot sauce??

: ;-) Di

Why Diana, I'd LOVE to join you for lunch!!! *pant, drool*.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate being back in North Carolina than to start off with some of that pulled pork NC barbque!!!! EVERYTHING in the rest of the country is covered in that yucky red sauce. They don't think it is barbque unless it looks like pork spaghetti sauce. (excepting in South Carolina apparently - yuk Christina.....yellowish? ugh)

Why, I'd do most anything to share in that repast with you and Cecelia!

Ever notice how one SURE way of getting a thread going on the board is to talk about FOOD???????? Wonder why that is.......*BG*
