Thank you Elaine! I wasn't trying to create or promote a conspiracy over all this, but it sure made my head spin trying to think of a reason Diana would do this. The only thing I could come up with was that for her to write another series while she is supposed to be writing the Outlander series would be terribly aggravating to all of us who are waiting impatiently to find out what happens to Jaime and Claire! I have to admit still, however, that their writing styles are so similar that it was a pleasure to discover another historical writer who doesn't insult my intelligence. But if they hadn't put Diana's name all over the cover, I would never have considered buying it. I guess the marketing gurus knew exactly who they were targeting and they did their jobs well!

Thanks for clearing that up for me. But this particular website IS very much like the Diana Gabladon website that I used to frequent about 4 or 5 years ago. I don't know what happend to it as the search engine isn't bringing it up anymore. It was hosted by a woman named Rosanna if I recall corrctly. Anyway, it doesn't matter now, it just all seemed to appear connected to me somehow.

Your friend, Sandra

: Hi Sandra,

: "After reading half of Into the Wilderness, I have pretty well come to the conclusion that Sara Donati and Diana Gabaldon are one and the same. The flavor is the same and the writing, well, only Diana writes like Diana."

: > Apparently you are not the first to claim or suspect this. However, they are definitely two different women authors.

: "And did Sara get permission from Diana to insert Ian Murray, Claire Fraser and her giant Scot husband into her books, or was there perhaps no reason to do so since she didn't need to ask herself?"

: > Since Diana has reviewed Sara's book (favorably), I'd assume she is quite aware of the characters. They do have much in common, at least in the literary arena. This hardly merits the suspicion, however.

: "Has anyone else thought this or am I totally off track?"

: > Considering the 'Sara Is Not Diana' page on Sara's website, I guess you're not alone.

: "And if so, how is it that their writing is so identical in style? Are they related some other way, or did Diana teach Sara to write the way she does?"

: > These are questions you should put to both authors. Each does have a website & welcomes questions.

: "Just curious about this web page too, since it's almost exactly like Diana's old one."

: > Here you lose me. I don't know anything about Diana's "old one." In what way is it "almost exactly" like hers? Please explain the similarities. Ours has been around for over four years.

: "Same webmaster, huh?"

: > Weeeeellll .... I'm not Diana or Sara. Rich isn't Diana or Sara. Since we are the webmasters of our own site I guess we can't actually be the "same webmasters."

: "Pretty fishy, I'd say! But who knows? Maybe you all have known this all along and I'm just slow in picking up on this new series."

: > ??? The mystery widens ....

: "I'd love a comment on this just to clear it up for me."

: > I've done my best! For the Sara/Diana mystery, please click on the URL below. For the Mohican Press/Elaine/Rich mystery, please browse the site.

: One note of interest ... Sara HAS contacted us in the past (while using her Rossina Lippi ID) via email, HAS posted here regarding her book, and HAS been so kind as to send us a complimentary copy. What ever is the Six Degrees To Lotm, I wonder?

: Thanks for posting, Sandra.
