Hi Jane, have you tried GenForum and Ancestry.com? FamilySearch, the Mormon genealogical site, has an excellent search feature for finding ancestors.

I took a look at the Inscore Family Genealogy Forum at GenForum, came across the following, posted be a Shelby Inscore:]
____________________
Insco/e/re Family, VA>NC>US

Along with two Inscore cousins, I have researched the Enscoe/Inscoe, Insco, Inscore/Enscore family for more than 20 years. We have printed two books on the family (first Enscoe in 1698). We also published a quasi-quarterly family newsletter with current and historical information. The first Insco/e/re Family Reunion was held July 1998 and the second is planned for July 2000. Would like to correspond with interested persons.
______________

Will put the link to the forum below.

Hope this helps.

Regards--Scott

: I ran across this site by accident. An onomastic told me that my Enscoe surname was from very old English found in the hickory flats and backwater swamps of Virginia and the Carolinas. That these settlements were cut off from any activity with neighboring settlements and retained original English speech patterns. Where can I find information on these groups of people?
