Um...what happened to the Tomahawk thread?

A gentleman named Steve Sipes(?) posted a query as to where he might obtain a replica of the tomahawk used by Daniel Day-Lewis in LOTM.

The title of his post was something like "Movie Props".

I responded to his post, saying I wasn't aware of a commercial replica, but that the nicest hawks I've "seen" produced by RMJ Forge, and posted an image from their site.

I made it clear that I had only "seen" them on the internet, and haven't handled them, but have had some favorable info about them.

When I checked back later, the proprietor of RMJ forge had responded with yet another posting of a hawk image (presumably one that resembles the movie hawk) and a statement as to the cost of forging a similar tomahawk, and contact info.

My assumption was (unless RMJ is a Mohican Board "lurker") that he had responded on the basis of his server stats reflecting the fact that I had posted the image, and perhaps showing some 'hits' coming from this location.

When I came back this evening, the thread was missing, presumably deleted.

When I came back this evening and couldn't find the thread, I was a bit dismayed.

Frankly, my first thought was that RMJ's post on price, availability, and contact info might have been regarded as a commercial intrusion.

I reviewed the guidelines above, and didn't find anything specifically addressing this, but I suppose the "agenda" caution might be applicable.

In any event, I'd like to make some things perfectly clear:

1) My response to Steve's query was in good faith and intended only to provide what information I have available.

2)As I stated in my post, I have absolutely no connection with RMJ Forge.

3) I would never, knowingly, subject this board to any negative intrusions.

The last isn't in any sense meant to imply that RMJ's post was negative--far from it, I believe it was only intended to respond to the request that Steve had made.

However, I can see where it becomes problematic to have commercial offerings made here.

I submit this respectfully, and in hope of some enlightenment.
