Eric, thank you for the information on the units at Ft. Detroit at the beginning of the seige. I went to the Digital History Ltd. site you suggested and followed their links to a page on the British Light Infantry Regiments:
http://digitalhistory.org/light.html
They list three light regiments, the 55th, 60th, and the 80th, the same units that were in Dalyell's relief force. The page says that the light regiments were formed so that the British troops would not be so dependent on the Colonial Rangers.

John

: Thank you John, yours informations help me a lot.
: Concerning the Detroit garrison, I find yesterday on the website Digital History ltd, that Gladwin had 2 companies of Royal American et 1 compagny of "Queen rangers". For the troops with Dallyel, I'm going to make search about the 55th, because I don't know this unit.
: Have a nice day
: Eric.
