As we are all praying and remembering what happened in New York, let's keep in our prayers the citizens of what are estimated now to be at least 50 other nations that lost people in the WTC. National Public Radio is reporting at least 300 casualties in Great Britain, 150 in Germany, as well as many in countries ranging from Denmark, Sweden, and China to Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Japan, Phillippines, Mexico, Colombia and Chile. This is truly a tragedy that has touched the world.

: Hi Steph ...

: Thanks for your help. I know what you mean, but ...

: This is no ordinary event. This is a life-altering event. That phrase is tossed around non-chalantly very often. This time, REALLY IS!

: I am working & functioning, but I want, very much, to stay on top of this story. Not to mention it figures to be the most important story of our lifetime, but I feel compelled, like I owe it to someone in some strange way. I don't mind crying; I don't mind feeling the pain, the anger. The day we lose that feeling, is the day we become vulnerable again.

: They killed 6,000, at least, of my (our) fellow Americans. These people have died for nothing.

: They launched an attack on my (our) Capitol.

: They knocked down two, more actually, buildings in my hometown.

: They have cost us billions.

: Yes, I do take it personally. As Elaine so eloquently put it, we watched in horror & were totally helpless to do anything.

: The day our Country takes appropriate action I will feel relief. I wish for World Peace, but justice must be extracted first.

: : Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Rich, I read your posting from a few days ago stating that you were glued to the tv when not working. I understand that we have all been that way, and I understand that you have a personal connection with the tragedy since you know people there and have lived there. However, please allow me to pass on a bit of advice I heard on the radio this weekend. It was from a psychologist advising people how to deal with the grief and the shock. She suggested turning off the tv. She said, you've seen it, you know what happened, there is no need to watch it over and over for hours on end. Rich, it will get into your soul and saturate it. The psychologist suggested turning off the tv and doing something productive, like straighten the house or work in the yard. Something that will make you feel alive and maybe even take your mind off of it.
: : I am not trivializing or downplaying what happened, but if America freezes and becomes so wrapped up in it, then those villians have done what they wanted to do: terrorize us. DOn't let them win. Be the beautiful, loving people you are in spite of everything. No, none of us will ever be the same, but we are still alive and must go on with the business of living..... sorry this was so long....
: : Love,
: : Stephanie
