Considering the fact that knowledge of Native American history is, at best, rudimentary among large parts of the population, I do believe that the title of a classic such as LOTM tends to cause misunderstandings.
Perhaps, but whose fault is that really? Cooper's? Or the laziness of the reader? One MUST read Cooper's preface!

Actually, Crystal's was one of the more polite comments on this subject that I've ever received - and perhaps I should make reference to that in "Volley Fire" .
