Anyone interested in the American Revolution and its role here in our humble state of South Carolina should run fast to get a copy of "Partisans and Redcoats: The Southern Conflict That Turned the Tide of the American Revolution." by Walter Edgar, William Morrow Co. (224 pages). This book is written by a professor and historian here at the University of South Carolina who is EXCELLENT, take this as a personal testimonial. Several years ago he wrote a history of South Carolina that so far has sold more copies statewide than any other history book published in the past few years...and "Partisans and Redcoats" has sold out at several bookstores around here! This guy is THAT good a writer...he brings all of it alive, Cowpens, Ninety Six, the battle of Camden, Brattonsville, Francis Marion, as well as the bloody vicious pitched battles in the backcountry between patriots and loyalists. It's available at amazon.com. Anyone who is interested in the Revolution's role in the South or good history in general should NOT miss this...
