: Funny thing is, it seems to correspond precisely (to the second) to my computer clock.

: Problem is, my computer clock is currently 7-8 minutes slow.

: Also, not sure how I feel about scripts on a website delving into the depth of my computer. (Or is this merely coincidence and I'm getting paranoid in my dotage?)

No need to be paranoid there, Scott. It's a very simple & harmless little script that accesses your computer's clock - much like a cookie acts on many sites - from our server out in Colorado. NOTHING is sent back to us or anywhere else. I know that for a fact. We run the latest version of McAfee's Personal Fire Wall, and it shows NO illegal intrusions on our home PC, and we access the Board in exactly the same way everyone else does. So, relax ...

NOW, that said, we - like most Web Sites out there - DO use a web tracking program, two actually, to track visitation patterns and page use. One, Access Watch, tracks the daily progress of each individual computer's access to the site. It has proven invaluable in enabling us to devise our link system, etc. Then we use Web Log, which is a cummulative program that totals everything up for us & is great for Stats & Stuff!!! It might sound a little scary, but it really is innocent stuff ... at least on THIS Web Site. Most sites out there do use trackers of some kind.

It's all mainly for security purposes ... I mean, if you have a REAL building in which people congregate, you can SEE them. That's all this basically does when you come right down to it. The clock doesn't even do that!
