: What does this mean for us come June, Rich?

All of what Marc said, Theresa. Have no fear ... no matter how long it takes (what's a few hours?), no matter how far (2 miles, or so?) ... we WILL get there!

With any amount of luck, this will all blow over anyway. BUT, Woody Keen has offered his services again, so, we will get there.

Our tentative plan is this ... meeting in the Hooker Falls lot early. Going to Hooker FIRST this time, then on to Triple & High. On the way back, we'll stop at Triple for lunch - The pavilion there is already reservered for us. That'll give us the entire afternoon to navigate Bridal Veil ... As Marc said, we will need to move cars around a bit to avoid clogging the lots, but it'll be doable.

: : Dear Friends of DuPont Forest,

: : This message is a brief update about the closing of one of the popular roads in the DuPont State Forest. At Agfa's request, the short section of Conservation Road which crosses Agfa property has been closed to the public . This closing cuts off the popular route from the parking lots on Staton Road to Bridal Veil Falls and Lake Julia.

: : The State and Agfa are working to resolve several complex liability and water quality issues relating to their joint interests in Lake Julia, and both parties express hope that the Conservation Road can be reopened in the near future.

: : Friends of DuPont Forest has been following this issue closely to determine if any action is needed on our part. At the present time, we are satisfied that the State understands the seriousness of the matter, and that both parties are working toward a win-win solution - hopefully before peak tourist season.
: : You can check out the Friends of DuPont website (www.dupontforest.com) updates on the issue. See Access Notice below.

: : For more details on this issue, see recent Times News article.

: : Thanks for your support.

: : Waterfall Access Update
: : The recent closing of part of Conservation Road is causing some confusion among trail visitors. There is no change to the access to the Forest's most popular destinations:

:
: : Triple Falls - no change in access
: : High Falls - no change in access
: : Hooker Falls - no change in access

: : Bridal Veil Falls / Horse Barn - Warning
: : The only legal dry-trail access* to Bridal Veil Falls and the Horse Barn is off the Reasonover Road access to Conservation Road. However, because parking is severely limited at this location, visitors are encouraged to consider visiting other forest attractions during peak hours until either the road is reopened or additional parking is established. Warning: It is illegal to block a gated entrance to the Forest.

: : * Note: You can also access Bridal Veil Falls from Corn's Mill Shoals Road by fording the Little River
