: I've often wondered how much influence the N.C. Wyeth illustrations had on the movie.  Many scenes have sort of a Wyeth-esque quality.

: : President's Day! The Greatest Leader of the Greatest Country in this World gets a day of recognition! Whoopdie-do! I mean, that's a post that certainly is deserving of recognition, no problem there - even if ther have been some Presidents I have loved to hate ... Tricky Dick, for one. But let's face it, everything is relative, and even though there may have been some real Bozos, by Presidential standards, it's still a pretty high lifetime achievement, you know? If one believes in this Country, and what it is all about, you sort of have to like the President ... relatively speaking, of course.

: : Here's MY gripe. Tomorrow is a Day ... but, it used to be TWO Days ... George Washington's Birthday & Abraham Lincoln's Birthday. They were chucked in favor of one, all-inclusive, President's Day! How nice! What a disgrace, really. To make room for another holiday, we eliminated a day to two of the greatest Americans who ever lived. Right up there with Thomas Jefferson ... who gets no Day at all. Well, he does, actually ... tomorrow is President's Day! We get to honor him right along side Bill Clinton ... Now, don't get me wrong, I voted for Clinton, once. But, now way Clinton=Jefferson! NO way!

: : Off the track ... the fact is, Washington & Lincoln served this Nation during its two most critical periods of history - its inception, and then its redefining - and served it well - outstandingly well, in fact. It's hard to imagine placing anyone above these two as great leaders of this great Nation, yet, we fail to individually acknowledge them, as a Nation today, when what they stood for means more than at any time since their eras - United We Stand! If two men ever symbolized that phrase ...

: : Yet, in New Jersey, recently, I believe it was in the state capitol, Washington's picture was removed ... in an effort to make the gallery more diverse. That is truly a disgrace ... very sad ... when certain factions of this Nation forget, on purpose, from where it was we came!

: : It matters not your race or nationality ... if you call yourself an American, the history of the NATION is the same ... oh, there are many threads and sidebars ... but the course of our National History is the same. And Washington & Lincoln, right at the forefront of that history, deserve to be remembered, and HONORED for their contributions to this Nation's History ... forever!

Undoubtedly, the dynamics will differ this go round, but there's enough "veterans" attending to keep it from becoming foreign territory. As someone said to me - "Looks like another great itinerary with enough new, unique, and exciting activities to make it just [as] fun to look forward to as all the others. This never gets old hat!!!!" - I agree!
