There are very few movies that I feel any great desire to see more than once.

Of course there are those old classics that I'm alway happy to see when they come around on the tube. Old friends, some considerably older than myself, and that's saying something.

But there are very, very few films I've had any desire to personally own. A few of the films I've purchased for my son I'm attached to (such as Disney's "Jungle Book"--which of course is also one of the oldies from my own younger years).

But the ones I've outright purchased for myself can be counted on one hand, with perhaps a finger or two left over.

One of them, of course, is LOTM. It was the inspiration for my biting the bullet and going out to get a DVD player. Thank goodness I have my son to work it (he is now well past the Jungle Book age).

I can't believe I can watch this movie over and over again without tiring of it. It defies logic. But then perhaps some of you can relate to this.

Another one of the handfull is Rob Roy.

As with LOTM, Rob Roy didn't even register on my radar screen when it came out in the theaters. (I guess I was too busy watching the Jungle Book and Dumbo at the time.)

And like LOTM, I came to it through internet boards. In the case of Rob Roy, boards dealing with swords and stuff that have a strong contingent of kilted folks. Or people who wish they were kilted.

I don't seem to have the desire to watch it quite as frequently as LOTM, but it's much the same thing.

Guess I'm just wondering if I have any company out there.

(And if you haven't seen it, rent a copy. I don't think you'll be sorry. Unless your a Campbell.)
