: To my dear Mohicanlanders:

: It is with great sadness that, in comparing calendars, I realize I will not be able to attend the Great Gathering this year. That same weekend, the King's Rangers are required to be at Crown Point to defend the King's interests against those Yankee Rebel Scum who have come to reject his right of authority over them. Moreover, a certain Major Mike Fitzgerald has been named Commander of the Provincial Brigade for the British Brigade (meaning he will be leading all of the British provincial forces, including the King's Rangers) at Crown Point and again at Saratoga in the Autumn. As much as I desire to accompany you all again to that place of great beauty in North Carolina of which I have many fond memories, I must, instead, support my Major in fighting for the Crown.

: I hope you will remember us when you are there.

: I remain,
: YMOS,
: Pvt. Chauncey Goodrich

All right, Private, I can understand all this "loyalty to comrades" and "fighting for one's King and Crown" stuff, BUT WHAT ABOUT OUR PING? You think the Yankee rebels were surly at Crown Point and Saratoga...well dear sir, you have not yet SEEN the likes of rebellion until you have deprived Mohicanites of their Ping! For your own safety and that of your Regiment, battle for the Crown if you must, but SURRENDER THE PING!

Affectionately,

Lady Ann (who, should you decide to share the recipe, can guarantee you a certain "profit" on the proceeds!)
