Speaking of Upcoming Movies...

I don't know how many Patrick O'Brian/Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin fans we have here, but I know we have at least one Russell Crowe fan.

I seems that Crowe has been cast as Aubrey in Peter Weir's upcoming film based on O'Brian's work. Although the movie appears to be based on "Master and Commander", the working title is from "Far Side of the World".

On a bittersweet note, the "HMS" Rose Foundation has sold the Rose to 20th Century Fox to play the part of HMS Surprise. The Rose was based just up the coast from me. The picture here is the Rose in NYC harbor in July 2000.
