: It's rainy ... it's cold for this time of year ... and things, in my life, aren't what they once were. What's a guy to do when he's totally bored? He, or I, anyway, did a Yahoo search on "Mohican Gathering."

: Did I find anything? Why sure. Found lots of posts & pages from this web site, of course. Found Susan's pics and Glen's page. Took me to Barby Holder, and more ...

: Here's a little sampling of others:

: From Dougie MacLean's site:

: Have been a fan for many years but really got excited when you did the Last Of The
: Mohicans. Your Perthshire Amber is great I got a copy from your shop when I took my
: wife Sheelagh up to your Hotel for our anniversary on April 10th this year. we have been
: up a couple of time bur infortunately missed you. However Sheelagh is very grateful for
: the signed photographs she got to take to the Mohican Gathering in North Carolina this
: year on June 23rd. The rest of the members of the Gathering team are just a wee bit jelous
: of the fact we can visit your place and listen to your music at first hand. we both realy
: look forward to meeting you some time soon. Best regards George & Sheelagh Penman
: Arbroath (and Saudi Arabia)

: From www.historypoint.org:

: Cooper's novel was made into an Oscar-nominated 1992 motion picture, starring Daniel
: Day-Lewis and Madeline Stowe. Enjoy it for its spectacular cinematography, if not for its
: historical accuracy -- it is truly a beautiful film. And, of course, the library has it and its
: stunning motion picture soundtrack!!

: The 1992 motion picture has developed a cult following. Every summer its devotees
: assemble in North Carolina to view it on the big screen, discuss its fine points, meet its
: stars, and tour the locations where it was filmed. Check it out at The Great Mohican
: Gathering, www.mohicanpress.com/2001_gathering.html

: And then, this one ... weird people out there in cyberspace! Ever notice? Ha Ha!

Neat stuff, Rich - I "DO" believe I know who Sheelagh Penman is and had no idea she was able to get her hubby in on things.

It really is an un-May-like day here in NC. Day before yesterday it was 92 degrees here and this morning we woke up to the high for the day - 60, and now it is rainy and 53 degrees. I thought...good morning to curl up in a blanket with some of my best coffee and watch a movie - just happened to pick LOTM (the DVD version), since it HAD been a while (of course, my daughter greeted the morning AND ME with "OH my gosh! No that again")and it *IS* time to start finalizing those Gathering arrangements and what better way to charge things up than watching THE movie!

Gadget Girl just received this year's probable gathering gadget in the mail yesterday, so we'll be testing that out today - Wish it were WARMER!!! I may freeze to death with this new "keep-cool" gadget!!!! More on that in few days!! Thank Goodness, she did stop short of the $50-ish air conditioner you strap on the back of your neck that blows up the back of your head!

I also recently visited the Ariel page and couldn't BELIEVE all those precious photos of that little angel. If someone were sitting on the fence or procrastinating about whether to donate something for Ariel's cabin - go see the pictures - it will become very clear what path to take after seeing that angelic smile!

Starting to get REAL excited now!!!
