I see that a few of you night owls have discovered, already, that the Great Sachem paid us a visit in the darkness and cleaned house. Gayle, hold on to your coffee this time! Yes, another archive. That, along with The Courier & The Mohican Chat Room, is now linked above. Hopefully that will make everything a bit easier for you all.
Peace seems to have settled, once again, in MohicanLand. We thank everyone of you for your words of support both here on the Board and, especially, in your E-Mails! They went a long way in the revitalization department! Even heard from the "other" camp in a positive way ... Thanks! That leads me to ...
There really SHOULDN'T be another "camp"! When you get down to it, through no fault of his, it all comes down to Eric Schweig. Insatiable fans, are his. It's ironic, I think, that SO much of the negativity we have received comes from fans of ES. We realized, very early on, that the mere mention of his name in a post subject line generated a long series of responses. This Board was often filled with these threads, and, very often, we found ourselves cleaning them out as they seemed, to us, to be very repetitive, sometimes resulting in rifts, and often dwelled in the area of gossip. Perhaps, that is where we began to give the impression that we were anti-ES.
Nothing could be further from the truth! As I've said before, WE are Eric Schweig fans, and we know that many of you greatly admire him, as well. How can you watch LOTM and not think that he is absolutely the PERFECT Uncas? (See Pat's post "What if ...") We've talked with him at length, many times, and he really comes off as a fine fellow ... we like him, he seems to like us. Hey, he chose us to help in the selling of his masks! Anyway, due to the constant interest in the man, we thought about what we could do to help to satisfy the call for "more Eric". We tracked him down, pestered a bit ... results? The Eric Schweig Interview, the masks, and lots of photos ... we expect more this week. Yet, still the critics chided. Harsh, too!
I think, now, that maybe it's over. We certainly hope so! It feels so much better to go forth with this Site in a POSITIVE manner. Those who feel compelled to criticize, please keep in mind, that we do what we do. That's us. That's this Site. The Eric Schweig sites & board out there do what they do. There's no need to be pitting one against the other. There's much common ground there, and I hope that all of this silliness can be left behind as we move on and have ... fun!
