In reply to Karen's question regarding casting, this from a casting director....


"In 80% of the time agents submit according to a character breakdown they
receive..Once casting finds the submission valid, THEN they will send a
script which will be used for the audition. The casting director really
doesn't have a lot of power, he/she acts as a middleman between agent
and producer. Since the producer's schedule is VERY busy , he doesn't
have the time to sift thru all the posssibles candidates... Therefore
casting narrows his choices down. Sometimes the director has SOME
influence in making the final decision, but it is ALWAYS the producer
(the people with the money) who has the last word...."
