: Hi Chris,
I work for the National Association of College stores, and I just wanted you to know that November is Native American Indian Heritage Month. We start shipping to our stores in mid-October, book assortments commemorating the history, culture and art of Native Americans.
Unfortunately this promotion does not receive the media coverage of many of the other promos that we do. Actually it receives very little compared to the others. I don't know what can be done except to notify persons in the media or newspapers.
I don't know of anything though that links Alaska Native Americans in particular.
I also will send a message to our representatives from Ohio.
good luck to you

: Having just finished celebrating Black History Month, and currently
: celebrating Women's History Month, I can't help wonder why we don't
: celebrate American Indian/Alaska Native Month. We hear lots of news
: about minorities, usually focused on Blacks, women, Hispanics and
: others, but never on American Indians/Alaska Natives. I think it is
: time this oversight was remedied. As representatives of a state that
: has a rich Native heritage, I would like to ask you to introduce
: legislation designating a month to celebrate American Indian/Alaska
: Native history.

: Thank you very much for your help.
