: What is the proper name of the person who is believed to be the last
: Mohican??

If you are referring to the James Fenimore Cooper books, the last of The Mohicans is Uncas, son of Chingachgook, whose hereditary name was also Uncas. Uncas was the name of Chingachgook's father, as well. The father was portrayed in Cooper's "The Wept of Wish Ton Wish" as the killer of Conanchet. Very interesting scene and well worth looking up.

If you are asking about actual historic information, to my understanding, descendants of the Mohican tribe still exist, so there has been no "Last", fortunately. Elaine, Rich?
