Sounds like you would be an interesting fella to know...why don't you think about joining us at our Gathering in June?

On the subject of Running Deer or Elk...I don't know doodly about doing either, as I'm not a hunter. No guns around here at all, long or short. But, my thoughts when I watch this scene are that Chingachgook (who is not with Uncas & Hawkeye) is running somewhere behind the elk, perhaps to keep it on the move, and Hawkeye & Uncas are running to cut it off. Perhaps they know where it will head & have taken a short cut? It never occurred to me to think they were just trying to chase it down, as I can't imagine a man could run as fast as an elk.

Is my interpretation possible? Anyone?
