: : I have to do a paper in English on the themes of LOTM. I need about 4 themes and would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks- DQ

: Dear DQ,

: I think if you read the book you will find that you have a multitude of themes from which to choose. From the story of each of the characters to conflicts among the warring nations to conflicts between cultures, Cooper included many of the issues with which the 1700s were rich and vibrant. All you need to do is decide which themes particularly take your interest. We will be interested to hear which ones you select and will enjoy discussing your ideas on them. Please get back to us. Good reading!

: Gayle

Gayle,
One theme I selected is that even though Heyward, Hawkeye, Chingachgook, and Uncas are very different culturally and physically, they could put that aside and work together towards the common cause of rescuing the girls and tracking down Magua.
