: : Well, Mr. Simon Girty!!

: : I wish to protest at your most ungentlemanly behaviour!! Pushing up my open winder, eh, window, sidling over my sill and perloining me best... pardon, *my* best, colourful quilt!!

: >It is a beaut' ;-)

: : What of the 'open door' policy of the settlements? You can leave your door open, but not your window, apparently!! Have you no shame, sir!!

: >Not much, accordin' to these here Colonials....

: : I'm sure we could have struck a very commodious bargain, had you had the courage to enter my establishment, knock me up (let me rephrase that last bit - t'was but a Scottish colloquilism for...) awaken me, and ask if you could purchase said article! I would have been truly happy to show you round my bed covers!!

: >Ah'll keep that in mind, Miss ;-) ...[snicker]

: : I must admit I did have an inkling of your presence in my shoppe, (which I put down to the smell of nocturnal happenings in the wild!). I think it was that wind that usually carries the smell of fuu-uudge - it brought a distinct smell of unwashed wool blanket, 'used' eagle feathers and a *definite* odour of 'used' hairpieces/extensions!

: >Ah' must also keep that in mind, 'aving spent th' last couple'a days upon th' trail, Ah' was' jes' ta' tired ta' wash...[th' wee bit of rum didnt help none either]...

: : Restitution is most desirable, sir! If you could please be so kind as to remunerate me for said quilt, in kind, that would be kind! Lots and lots of eagle feathers will do it! Hair pieces - at a *pinch*, sir!! I will try to keep Marshall Art occupied while you sidle over to my back stoop with the desired form of trade, sir!

: >Ahhhh, Miss, Ah' think ya'll be pleasently suh'prised by th' small purse ya'll find under th' upside down flower pot upon yar' back stoop, er, porch... th' purse 'n th' coins within were *liberated* recently whilest upon th' warpath with me Seneca brothers up north [th' less said 'bout th' reddish-brown stains upon th' purse th' better, Miss]...

: Understand, we must keep tis' betweens us, Ah' do not wish to bring trouble down upon yar'self, these Colonials 'ave it in fer' me [*innocent* ol' me couldnt imagine why ;-) ] 'n Ah' fear mah' doin' biz'ness with ya' would result in ya' being most unwelcome in tis' valley...

: 'Sides o' which, Ah' may need ya' ta' shew me about yar' bed covers sometime ;-)

: : Hoping to hear from you - or at least smell your presence, in the near future,

: : I remain, your quilt provider - (unknowing!)
: : Miss Katie.

: >Kindest Regards,
: Simon Girty

: P.S.
: Ah, also left ya' two *used* eagle feathers...
: please dont mind the blood stains :-)

WELL! WELL!! WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!! So all that bunkum about the trouble you went to to get me that SPECIAL eagle feather was so much forked tongue snake in the grass hogwash, an' now I see yer handin' em out to every lady in the Colony! Playin' it a little high, wide an' handsome for safety's sake, an't ye Simon?
