: Hi, Pat! I watched the first one and was absolutely hooked! Watched the 2nd one last night, and still felt the same way. A great adventcha, I think! And I concur that the acting was well done. I like Horatio...Iain something. I thought I recognized him from Titanic, and watched it again to see, and I believe I am correct. I think he's the crew member who comes back to try to rescue the poor, frozen people in the water. I was impressed with him in Titanic because he just looked so stricken that they had waited too late to save anyone. (Except our heroine, of course!)

: Anyway, I think he's doing an excellent job in this swashbuckling sorta film, and I also liked the Captain, too. It's all great fun, in addition to your well-made point about the lessons of duty and responsibility. And, BTW, A & E has been running encores on Tuesday night, so anyone who misses them on Sunday can catch them then, and possibly even at other times. (A & E is pretty good for that.)

Marcia,
I haven't seen Titanic (Ok, I know, I know. I should see it - just haven't been in the mood for it). The lead's name in Hornblower is Ioan Gruffudd. I am guessing he is from Wales and the first name is pronounce "Owen." Anyone know?
Marcia, you are right about the actor who plays the Captain, Sir Edward Pellew. He is superb! I don't know his name or what else he has played in, but he is great.
Pat
